A Little Bit about Los Cabos
A little bit about LOS CABOS, or for the Spanish impaired, The Capes. At the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, approximately 1000 miles south of San Diego, CA, Los Cabos is comprised of 3 areas.
SAN JOSE DEL CABO, the city closest to the airport is the quieter of the two cities, and is definitely more laid back with old Mexico charm and a lovely downtown area.
THE CORRIDOR, twenty something miles of oceanfront and oceanview view land along the Sea of Cortez which is quickly being developed with luxury resorts, signature golf courses and several upscale home developments.
CABO SAN LUCAS,The Corridor ends at Cabo San Lucas, the once sleepy fishing village that is bordered by the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Sea of Cortez on the other. This village has exploded with growth over the last 16 years and has become one of Mexico’s most popular resort destinations for golfers, fisherman, water sports enthusiasts. Cabo's most famous landmark, El Arco (The Arch), lies at the very tip of the Baja Peninsula.
The weather in Los Cabos is sunny about 360 days a year... think Palm Springs near the ocean. Except for late summer and early fall there is hardly any humidity. Mid July through the end of September is hurricane season and the humidity is on a par with the east coast. Cabo is situated in such a way that most of the major storms veer off to the left and dissipate over the Pacific.
The Gulf is calm and most beaches are safe swimming beaches. The Pacific is just the opposite... definitely more active and a big favorite of surfers. The many beaches offer opportunities for snorkeling, surfing, water skiing, and windsurfing. There are many recreational companies that offer snorkeling-diving, ATV tours, sailing, and whale-watching in season. Let's not forget sportfishing...Cabo is the marlin capital of the world with many charter boats ready to take you out for your chance at landing a big one.
Most major airlines provide service CABO SAN LUCAS-LOS CABOS with plenty of direct flights from the U.S./Canadian cities coast to coast and more being added every season. Newest routes belong to WestJet which is now offering non stop service from Calgary.
An abundance of world class restaurants, a myriad of activities, pristine beaches, and the new Puerta Paraiso Mall which houses fine restaurants, boutiques, a bowling alley, and movie theaters have all contributed to the growth of Los Cabos, making this the largest growing real estate market in Mexico.
